Every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood or blood products. From burn victims and trauma patients to people with cancer or those undergoing surgery, the need for blood is constant. These lifesaving treatments can only be given by volunteer blood donors, and all blood types are needed.
Donating blood is safe and easy. The entire process only takes about 1 hour of your time. All potential donors receive a thorough health screening, and eligible donors may give up to six times per year. A single donation can save up to three lives. This means you have the potential to make a difference in up to 18 lives per year!
