- PAs who have practiced for more than 2080 hours (one year of full-time practice) are no longer required to identify a physician on their license.
- The supervisory agreement, delegation of scope and practice location notification have been removed from PA practice law.
- Scope of practice is now established in law and is based on the PAs individual education, experience, and training, and is determined at the practice level through a practice agreement.
- Prescriptive authority is established in statute and no longer requires delegation.
- Burdensome paperwork has been reduced making PAs easier to employ.

Fellow: $150 annual dues; NEW! 2 Year Fellow dues ($300)
- Must be a graduate of an accredited PA program, or an NCCPA-certified PA.
- Must be a fellow member of the American Academy of Physician Associates in good standing.
- Will be required to provide AAPA ID Number and NCCPA ID Number.
- Member would be eligible for fellow membership but is not a fellow member of the AAPA.
- Will be required to provide NCCPA ID Number.
- A New Graduate of an accredited PA program, or an NCCPA-certified PA, is eligible for a 50% discount on a Fellow or Sustaining membership during the first year after graduation (to take the Fellow membership, the new grad must
also be a fellow member of the American Academy of Physician Associates in good standing).
- A retired member must have been a member in good standing of the Minnesota Academy of Physician Associates for a minimum of five years (not necessarily in succession and not necessarily the last five years).
- A retired member must be fully retired from gainful employment as a PA.
- One-time fee for as long as you are enrolled in an accredited PA program.
- A student is enrolled in an accredited PA program or an unaccredited program that is recognized by the AAPA.
- Student Representatives are elected by their classmates and enjoy all rights and privileges, including formal vote, except in matters relating to AAPA.
- A Pre-PA Student is a person interested in the Physician Associate profession and not yet enrolled in an accredited PA-S Program.
- Pre-PA Student Member benefits include Pre-PA resources and mentor directory search. This mentor directory gives Pre-PA students the names of PA students and practicing PAs that have indicated they are willing to be a mentor to
a Pre-PA student.
- An individual who is ineligible for the Fellow or Sustaining categories and still wishes to associate with the organization and is approved by the Board of Directors.
- Affiliate membership is not open to vendors who sell products or services.
- Affiliate members shall be entitled to the privilege of the floor but shall not be entitled to vote or hold office
