MAPA's standing committees are crucial to developing initiatives and carrying out strategic goals.
Each committee plays a vital role in the ongoing growth and development of both the PA profession and the PAs of Minnesota.
Below are the MAPA committees and their main purpose:
AWARDS Committee Chair: ELIZABETH WALLIS, MS, PA-C
- The purpose of the Awards Committee is to solicit and subsequently review submissions for PA of the Year and Preceptor/Mentor of the Year and select the recipients.
BYLAWS COMMITTEE CHAIR: clinton billhorn, MS, pa-c, CAQ-HM
- The purpose of the Bylaws Committee is to make sure the Bylaws and Policy Manual are kept current and to offer interpretation of same as needed.
COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE CHAIR: vacant
- The purpose of the Communications Committee is to maintain a comprehensive communication with its MAPA members.
CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION (CME) COMMITTEE CHAIR: Danielle o'laughlin, PA-C
- The purpose of the Continuing Medical Education Committee is to offer, plan and present multi-modality continuing medical educational offerings for MAPA members and appropriate others.
DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION: COMMITTEE Co - CHAIRs: Hayden Middleton, PA-C and Jaci Tourtellott, PA-C; Vice Chair: Helena Humphreys, PA-C
- The DE&I committee is dedicated to ensuring MAPA fulfills its responsibility to promote a culture of equity and inclusiveness for Minnesota PAs of all backgrounds across our state, in order to reflect the diverse communities which
we serve and ultimately improve the health of our patients and our state.
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE CHAIR: Matt Weisemen, PA-C
- The purpose of the Leadership Development Committee is to promote and develop the growth of PAs as leaders in MAPA and elsewhere.
LEGISLATIVE & Reimbursement COMMITTEE CO-cHAIRs: Alannah Zheng, PA-C and John boettger, PA-c
- The purpose of the Legislative & Reimbursement Committee is to monitor, address, create and advocate for or against any legislation, regulation or policy that is relevant to PA practice, as well as to inform and educate all invested
stakeholders about this work.

- The purpose of the Social Media & Marketing Committee is to promote MAPA and the PA profession with MAPA members, nonmember PAs, and the public.
SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE CHAIR: DEB SCHILLING, PA-C
- The purpose of the Scholarship Committee is to raise funds and distribute scholarships to student members of MAPA.
STUDENT RELATIONS COMMITTEE CHAIR: Matt Weiseman, PA-C and brian burroughs, PA-c
