How can you help the Minnesota PA Profession?
Consider becoming a Clinical Preceptor!
Clinical training slots for PA students are increasingly in short supply across the state in all clinical disciplines and settings. This condition is being exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Minnesota PA students need you and are eager to learn from your experience! Perhaps you and your clinical team can help.
Clinical sites are inundated with many types of students: medical students, NP students, nursing students, etc. Many physicians take on medical students, thus limiting physician preceptors for PA students. Thus, we need more practicing PAs to step up and help teach our future PAs.
Please consider speaking with your clinical colleagues and administration to see if there is a way for your employment setting to serve as a clinical training site and for you to serve as a preceptor for second year students.
The future of our profession relies on cooperation from all of us.
