August is National Immunization Awareness Month

Read and listen to audio.

In addition to speaking with your health care provider, MAPA recommends the following resources:

• The Immunization Action Coalition Vaccine Information You Need    
• Minnesota Department of Health immunization information       
• From the CDC Vaccines and Preventable Diseases

These resources use the term vaccination and immunization interchangeably.  What is the difference?

• Vaccination is the act of introducing a vaccine into the body to produce immunity to a specific disease.
• Immunization is a process by which a person becomes protected against a disease through vaccination.

So, whichever term you use MAPA, and your PA encourage you to roll up your sleeves.
