Overview
The new 2022 CMS guidelines directly impact how PAs can practice and be reimbursed. Join special guest speaker Michael
Powe, VP of Reimbursement for the AAPA, who will speak to the 2022 CMS Reimbursement Updates for PAs.

Learning Objectives
- Explain the PA-relevant regulatory and policy changes planned by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) effective January 1, 2022.
- Detail how PAs can avoid allegations related to Medicare fraud and abuse.
- Identify strategies to improve the recognition and tracking of the economic value PAs bring to their employers.
Speaker
Michael Powe
is the Vice President of Reimbursement & Professional Advocacy for the American Academy of PAs (AAPA). In that capacity, he deals with healthcare policy issues, third party payment, the Medicare and Medicaid programs, health care reform, value-based
payment initiatives, and various state and federal regulatory agencies.
Mr. Powe also serves as AAPA’s staff liaison to the American Medical Association’s CPT Editorial Panel and the
Relative Value Update Committee, which evaluates the Medicare payment process. He is the co-author of the book, The Essential Guide to PA Reimbursement, and an adjunct assistant professor at the George Washington University School of Medicine and
Health Sciences in Washington, DC.

Accreditation
This program is not yet approved for CME credit. Conference organizers plan to apply for 1.5 AAPA
